Since 1993, Salamander Theatre for Young Audiences has been offering young aspiring actors the opportunity to work with our company’s professional artists to develop polished and professional theatrical skills.
We provide intensive two and three-week drama camps. This gives the opportunity for young people to mount a Shakespearean play in our SIMPLY SHAKESPEARE camps; or to create a Broadway musical in our BROADWAY BOUND junior and senior camps.
Early school aged children will also enjoy our introductory dramatic arts and crafts at our week-long PLAYS DAYS camp.

CAMP GUIDELINES
DATES & TIMES:
- Camps run Monday to Friday, from 9:00am - 4:00pm.
- Note: You must drop off / pick up your child within the hours of 8:30am - 9:00am & 4:00pm - 4:30pm.
Failure to do so will result in an additional fee and may jeopardize your child’s continued participation in the camp.
CAMP DRESS CODE: (Please dress your child appropriately for the camp he/she is attending)
-
BROADWAY BOUND campers will spend a great deal of their day in a cool indoor facility. Campers should bring a sweater to keep muscles warm during dance breaks. Children should bring a hat and a water bottle with them to camp each day for the times when they are outdoors.
- PLAY DAYS Campers will spend their time between a cool indoor facility with an outdoor yard.
Please bring sunscreen and a sweater.
- SIMPLY SHAKESPEARE - Campers will spend most of their day outside. Please bring a hat and a water bottle to camp each day.
LUNCHES, SNACKS & BREAKS:
- Campers will take snack breaks as well as break for one hour each day at lunchtime - to rest, relax, take nourishment, and rejuvenate.
- Salamander DOES NOT provide snacks, beverages or lunch to campers. Camp Counselors will not be available to chaperone campers to a store to purchase their lunch each day.
- As theatre is hard work, we recommend packing wholesome, high-energy snacks, lunches and fluids (fruit, veggie sticks, granola bars), in an insulated, cooler-type lunch bag if possible, for your child to nibble on throughout the day.
(*Please note: Peanuts, chocolate and candy are not allowed.)
CAMP WRAP-UP & PERFORMANCES
- The final performances are an exciting time for all campers as they get to show off everything they’ve learned at camp. We encourage you and any friends or relatives you wish to invite to come and support your child by attending his/her performance at the end of each session.
- BROADWAY BOUND & SIMPLY SHAKESPEARE - At the end of each session, campers will perform a play or musical that they have been working on throughout the camp.
- PERFORMANCE TIMES - Towards the end of each session, the camp counselors will provide the dates and times of these performances to you (usually towards the end of camp).
